TOAST TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES: Baron Selkirk of Douglas (Lord James Douglas-Hamilton, Balliol, Oxford), will speak. He was a member of the Scottish Parliament from 1999 to 2007 and is now active in the House of Lords. His book Motive for Mission is about Rudolf Hess's meeting with Lord Hamilton during WWII. He will be introduced by Matthew Nimetz (Balliol, Oxford), U.N. Special Representative and former partner at Paul, Weiss.
TOAST TO THE QUEEN: Hon. John Brademas, former Congressman from Indiana and former President of New York University.

Derman (Department of Theoretical Physics), particle physicist for 20 years at Columbia and Oxford, managing director at Goldman Sachs, author of My Life as a Quant: Reflections on Physics and Finance. Profiled in the NY Times on March 10.RESPONSE FROM THE UNIVERSITIES: Professor Alex Halliday (St. Hugh's,
Oxford), whose skills include figuring out the origins of planets. Professor Halliday is Head of Oxford's Mathematical, Physical and Life
Sciences Division.
